Making Senseless
© 2007 by Joe Strell
Far away
From today
In a flurry of mindless haste
What a waste
In this way
Nothing can be resolved
Whenever I am without you
I'm abject helpless
Nothing I could say
Would make sense
Anyway
In the eyes
Of a child
An image can last so long
That it's wrong
Not to try
When everything else dissolves
After all
I'm enthralled
By the simplest of things
And I cling
Just to stall
Until the earth revolves
Whenever I am without you
I'm abject helpless
Nothing I could say
Would make sense
Anyway
Walk with me
Up the street
If only to pass the time
It's sublime
Yet discrete
Nothing to be absolved
Whenever I am without you
I'm abject helpless
Nothing I could say
Would make sense
In defense, reticence lends suspense
Anyway
